How do I log in?
Click Sign in at the top of any page, or go straight to share.alby.photos.
How do I create an event?
Once you're signed in, open the menu. Then either:
- click View all, then + Create new event, or
- open the drop-down and click + Create new event.
How do I upgrade my plan?
Sign in to your account. Your current plan shows in the top right. Click it to upgrade, then follow the payment steps.
Using the platform
Where do I find my event QR code and link?
Once you're signed in, open your event. Your QR code and unique link are under Your event links.
If that section is greyed out, create at least one album first. Your QR code and link switch on as soon as you do.
What's the difference between event and album QR codes and links?
An album QR code or link only opens that album. It's handy if you want some guests to see only certain albums.
An event QR code or link opens every album in your event. If you're happy for all your guests to see everything, share this one.
What is the People section?
alby spots faces in your albums and lets you name the people in them. It then groups together the photos each person appears in. You can switch this off at any time.
What's the best way to get guests uploading at my event?
A few ideas that work well:
- Print your QR code on table plans, place cards or the order of service.
- Put it where people have a spare moment to read it. The back of the loo door works wonders.
- Send your event link round before and after the day.
- Run a friendly competition, like "best pic wins".
Account & data
How long can I access the media uploaded to my event?
Everything uploaded to your events and albums stays available for as long as your alby plan is active.
Can I download the media shared to my event?
Absolutely. Open any photo or video and click the download button (the arrow pointing down). To download several at once, go to the album, select the ones you want and download them together.
Can I password-protect my event?
Of course. Go to Event settings, then Event visibility, and choose Set password. Enter your password and click Save.
Tip: keep it short and memorable, because your guests will need it to get into your event.
Important dates & collaborators
Will my alby plan auto-renew?
No. alby is a one-off payment, so there's nothing to renew and nothing to cancel.
Will the QR codes or links expire for my guests?
By default, your QR codes and links stop working when your alby plan ends. You can also set your own expiry date in Event settings, under Event visibility.
Can I add a collaborator to my event?
Sure. Go to Event settings, then Collaborators, and follow the steps.
